About
I’m a researcher at the RAND Center for AI, Security, and Technology, where I lead European frontier AI policy, and a Research Affiliate at the Oxford Martin AI Governance Initiative. Previously, I co-founded cFactual, worked at the Boston Consulting Group, and did research at the Centre for the Governance of AI.
Currently, I focus on the role of Europe and other middle powers in AI geopolitics.
In past lives, I lived in various European countries, was a competitive debater, co-founded a hacker house, started a traditional 16th century Dutch "chamber of rhetoric", cycled through Scandinavia, organised various cultural events, ran a bar, and helped build a professional network dedicated to effective giving.
